The museum ‘Oud Anna Paulowna’ is located in the village. The museum deals with the reclamation of the Anna Paulownapolder and the flower bulb cultivation around the village. Attention is also paid to Queen Anna Paulowna, after whom the polder is named.
Breezand has a small but pleasant shopping area with a varied range of shops. You will also find the “De Krieck” swimming pool here.
Every spring, Breezand and Anna Paulowna, the neighbouring village, organise the Flower Days. More than a hundred mosaics, made from thousands of tiny flowers, are scattered throughout both villages. The mosaics are located in the gardens of their creators and can be admired by everyone free of charge during these days. With a list of participants and a map, you can plan your own route and cycle or drive past all the mosaics.
Just outside the village of Anna Paulowna, you will find the “Best Day Out in North Holland” 2020: Hoenderdaell Animal Park. Walk through a vast nature reserve past various animal enclosures and areas where different animals roam freely. You will also find the Lion Foundation here, which temporarily shelters displaced feline predators.
